Power Tools!

If feels like my husband and I have been fixing up our house for years! Wait. We have! My husband likes to do most of the fixing around the house. He has installed almost all of our bathroom and kitchen products. If he doesn’t know how to install it, he does some research and asking around and sometimes a little trial and error until he gets it done. I remember when he decided he would install our toilet. I asked him if he had ever installed one before. He just looked at me like, “Is that relevant?” Apparently not, at least not to him.  He asked around and talked to a few plumbers. Then he started on the project. It took him half a day and two tries to get it right, but according to him “It was worth it!”  Sometimes I don’t know if it is a virtue for a fault.

Don’t get me wrong, my fix-it-man husband is wonderful! He really had learned how to fix most things around the house. And we really do save a lot on installation fees and such. It is rare when we have to call a repair man to fix something that is broken.

Part of the fixing and “remodeling” in our house had to do with walls we torn down and then new ones put up. My husband has been able to do all of this. Of course I’ve helped as much as I can (especially with the tearing things down!) but he really is the Hero in all of this. But recently his yard sale power saw gave out on him. Poor guy. It was like part of him was dead. And the worst part is our remodeling came to a standstill.

Like a wonderful (and desperate) wife I decided to get him a new power saw for Father’s Day! Believe me it will make his day (and mine) and don’t worry, he doesn’t read this blog so he won’t find out;)

I wanted to get him a saw just like the one he had but better. And newer. So I did some researching and reviewing. It took me awhile to find just what he I needed and then I found the  perfect one. (check out the pictureJ

This is a Milwaukee saw is part of the Milter saw series. Although a little pricey, it has great reviews for being best in class accuracy, power and ease of use. I’m gonna say totally worth the mu-la! This thing is pretty ligit. It has a fine adjust with Detent override that makes it simple to dial-in precise miter angles. I love the integral dust channel that captures 75 percent of the dust and debris (less of a mess in my garage!) and the digital readout which provides repeatable accuracy to 0.1 degree. This saw has many more incredible features even though I named just a few. With this kind of saw my husband will be able to make precise cuts for any project. My pretty excited for the big Father’s Day debut!
