Things to consider....

Alright so last post I talked about the master bathroom. I am almost finished with the “modeling” part and ready to go on to the decorating part. As I mentioned last week, we recently installed our shower faucet. We got the big fancy one and we are loving it, my husband especially. He is a shower guy (like most men I think). I like a shower most of the time but once in a while I just need a soak in the bathtub. I have one of those!

Remember this was one of my requirements for my master bathroom. I have been waiting so long to have my very own tub to soak in. In our previous home the only tub was in the kids bathroom and any mom knows that means messy and toys everywhere!

Alright on to the point, we had installed the tub and just needed to decide on a faucet. There is actually so much more to picking out a faucet than what looks nice and is the “style” that appeals to you. Here are a few things to consider.

  • Check out the flow rate of the faucet or shower head. Some faucets have a faster rate (this you will want to use on large tubs) and if you are looking for a shower head and love something with a pulse or more of a water massage.

  • Consider the handle type. Do you need something easy for the kids to manipulate? Or are you looking for an easy way to control the temperature of the hot and cold? I am always partial to a two handle but in my family we always just had the one handle control.

  • Metal quality is another thing to consider. Some brands do not offer much more than chrome, which is now considered a lower quality metal but that may be all you need a bathroom full of kids;) Some more high-end brands you can get a variety of metals in just one style.

  • Brand quality will make a difference even if you think you can cut corners, when it comes to quality you really can’t.

  • If you want an environmentally friendly showerhead, make this part of your consideration when choosing (Moen is a good brand for this). You may need to research the brand before settle on the desired faucet.

You will need to compare prices at different stores to really find the faucet that fits all of your requirements. Do just buy a faucet because it looks good. Research it. Find out more about it. Make sure ii is one you will love or one that will be best for your needs. I know that the faucet in my kids’ bathroom is nothing like the one is my beautiful master bath. As I have looked at many stores and prices I have found the best at Plumberstock.com.  You really will get the best for your money. They have a variety of designs, brands, and prices. So, consider what you want in your faucet and go out and find the best one for you!
